THE REALITY

Morocco’s culture, landscapes, and coastline make it one of North Africa’s most captivating countries, and one of the most spiritually unreached. Less than 0.2% of the population identifies as Christian, and Islam is woven into every aspect of society. Those who do come to Christ and proclaim their faith, can experience persecution. Evangelism is restricted by law, and Christian communities are far and few.

By God’s grace, small groups of believers gather in house churches and underground fellowships, often in isolation, but with bold faith. The need for encouragement, discipleship, and strong spiritual leadership is urgent. Training and equipping leaders has become more difficult in recent years, as most Bible schools and Christian organizations face legal restrictions or have been forced to shut down. Yet, the hunger for truth remains, especially among young people searching for purpose in a rapidly modernizing country.

Surfing is expanding along Morocco’s coast and developing into a global hub for surf tourism, with world-class waves and a growing local surf scene. In cities like Casablanca and Rabat, skateboarding is gaining momentum through DIY skate spots, youth-led projects, and the efforts of international NGOs helping to create spaces for youth to gather. Action sports can truly become a bridge for connecting people to the hope of Jesus. These growing communities present a unique opportunity for outreach, evangelism and discipleship. Surfboards, skateboards, and shared stoke become tools to form authentic relationships—relationships where the Gospel can be lived out and shared naturally, relationally, and with great love.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 1:8

Pray with us

Pray that the 2023 earthquake in Marrakesh will stir spiritual awareness. Though tragic, the response of believers in relief efforts helped break down prejudice and build trust. Ask God that hearts would continue to soften toward Christians and that many would turn to Him amid life’s uncertainties.

Pray for courage and faith for the growing Church. With only an estimated 2,000 believers meeting in small house churches, many face pressure from family, police, and religious leaders. Ask God that believers grow in faith, courage, and knowledge of God.

Pray for breakthroughs among unreached people groups, including the Berbers, nomadic tribes, and rural Arab Muslims. Ask God that believers will boldly go in love and cultural sensitivity, using their heart languages to bring Jesus where He has not been proclaimed.
